So, what happens when Super Mario Bros. and Night At The Roxbury collide in outer space at the speed of light? Electronic Super Joy happens. Billed as a “brutally hard platformer set in a world of pulse-pounding electronic music”, Electronic Super Joy does not look to disappoint; delivering retro-platforming, and low-res graphics in the typical indie style that some of us just can’t get enough of. And now you get get early access to the game as development moves towards the official release date. A meager $4.99 will get you access, while those who wait will have to pay $9.99.
We want to tell you that the game is overflowing with electronic joy, charm, and other positives, but the only thing we have to go on is the video below. We bought an early access copy, but like Hotline Miami, it refuses to start on our Ubuntu 13.04 machine.
Here is the byline from the Steam Store:
Electronic Super Joy is a brutally hard platformer set in a world of pulse-pounding electronic music. Run, jump, smash & fly your way through 45+ weird & different levels, with low-gravity, world rotation, giant monsters & swarming missiles. Available now through Steam early access.
